Jakarta, Indonesia – In preparation for the Busworld Southeast Asia 2026 event, scheduled for May 20–22, 2026, at JIEXPO Kemayoran, Jakarta, GEM Indonesia, as the official representative of Busworld Southeast Asia, has conducted a series of visits to several leading bus body builders (karoseri) in Indonesia. This activity aims to strengthen industry relationships, explore the latest innovations in coachbuilding and supporting industries, discuss how Busworld Southeast Asia can be a strategic partner for local body builders to go international, and open up strategic collaboration opportunities ahead of the largest bus exhibition in Southeast Asia.
The visits, which took place from September 15–17, included several big names in the national coachbuilding industry, such as:
- Karoseri New Armada at Magelang, Central Java
- Karoseri Adiputro at Malang, East Java
- Karoseri Laksana at Ungaran, Central Java
- Karoseri Tentrem at Malang, East Java
- Karoseri Piala Mas at Malang, East Java
- Karoseri Trisakti at Magelang, Central Java
- And visit the bus supporting industry, Rimba Kencana at Malang, East Java
During the visit, the Busworld Southeast Asia team had the opportunity to directly observe the production process, the latest technological innovations, and hold in-depth discussions regarding the national coachbuilding industry's readiness to face the era of commercial vehicle electrification and connectivity, as well as the industry's future challenges.

However, we still need support from the government so that Indonesian body builders can go international, because in terms of quality, Indonesian buses are no less excellent.", said David Jethrokusumo, Director of Adiputro Karoseri (Bus Body Builder).
This activity is part of a series of pre-event engagement activities leading up to Busworld Southeast Asia 2026, which will take place from May 20–22, 2026, at JIEXPO Kemayoran, Jakarta. This exhibition is expected to be a strategic meeting place for bus manufacturers, body builders (karoseri), transport operators, and other stakeholders in the Southeast Asian region.
