Yana explains that the development of electric buses and Sustainability Transportation in Jakarta is in line with the Green Bond concept of the London Stock Exchange. This Green Bond is oriented towards environmental protection. PT. In addition, CO2 emissions in the exhaust gas of electric buses can be reduced by up to 50.3 percent compared to the exhaust gas of diesel buses.

“Transjakarta has started operating electric buses since last March. We are targeting as many as 100 electric buses to be able to serve the community by 2030. We look forward to working with the London Stock Exchange to reduce carbon emissions, particularly in the public transport sector,” he says.

In addition, in order to strengthen the electrification of the Transjakarta bus fleet, during a working visit in London Yana also discusses other collaborations. Transjakarta is also exploring the development of cooperation with a flagship program under the UK's International Climate Finance (ICF) portfolio, UK PACT. The cooperation, which has been going on for a year, will focus on the electrification of the bus fleet, which is one of the efforts to achieve the Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC).

“This project is a continuation of the first project where UK PACT, through ITDP, will provide technical assistance to Transjakarta in developing a sound final business case (FBC). So that electric buses can immediately serve more people," said Yana. (text: mai -  photo: doc. of PT. Transjakarta)
